City Vision Sport & Life: The Beating Heart of the Urban Fabric
A joint initiative between City Vision, XLeisure, and Outex - Outdoor Experience, City Vision Sport & Life will be one of the stops on City Vision’s 2027 roadshow, which is venturing into the world of sports facilities, aquatic centers, and outdoor spaces for the first time. Thanks to City Vision—the community that brings together over 7,000 representatives from public administrations, businesses, startups, research centers, and associations to accelerate the smart transformation of local areas—this new event will shine a spotlight on spaces dedicated to sports, aquatic activities, the outdoors, and wellness, addressing one of the most pressing challenges for local governments: that of enhancing and making more efficient facilities that are essential to community life but often face the challenge of outdated infrastructure.
The discussion will therefore center on the themes that are reshaping the relationship between cities, citizens, and recreational spaces: innovation, sustainability, safety, facility management, digital transformation, energy efficiency, and new ways of using these spaces. Direct dialogue with mayors, city council members, and public administration officials will be essential, as they are called upon to share challenges, experiences, and perspectives and to engage with the business and innovation communities. “With City Vision Sport & Life, we’re bringing a key element to the discussion on sports facilities at XLeisure and Outex: the central role of the public administration,” said Domenico Lanzilotta, director of City Vision. “It’s a dialogue that rarely finds a place at trade shows, yet one that is essential for transforming the needs of the public administration into concrete innovation.” City Vision Sport & Life was created to place these needs at the center of the discussion.
As Raul Barbieri, CEO of Editrice Il Campo, explained, “This partnership stems from the desire to build an ever-stronger bridge between businesses and public administration, deepening the dialogue with those who plan, manage, and govern local communities—starting with mayors, council members, and technical experts. It is an alliance that enriches both worlds and consolidates the role of XLeisure and Outex as meeting places, capable of connecting real needs with solutions for the future of leisure.”
The program will alternate between talks, panel discussions, networking sessions, and opportunities for discussion in the exhibition spaces, focusing on challenges, solutions, and best practices related to the management and evolution of sports facilities.
